The sun woke me up at 05.30 this morning. I hurried up to start the battery charging. Finally some sun! After that I went back to sleep. Pour Pekka (the man who monitors us from the shore...) worried before he got my first message. For safety reasons I have to keep in touch twice a day.
Last night, taking our final walk around the island, we found a seal on the north side of the northern wall. I went close enough to get a good picture, then we left it alone. It looked like a half grown puppie changing its fur. Tossan was behaving really good, staying with me.

Today the wind is about NW 6-8 and steady. I found myself doing this and that all day. When talking to Nya Åland (local newspaper) I heard about two ships in a near collission last night close to Märket. I slept like a baby all night knowing nothing.

One thing that amazes me is how much life and noice here is. There is more than 10 different kind of birds minding their own business and the seals "cry" on the rock north of Märket. I hear ships engines all day and night, and today also a helicopter flying close on its way West.

The wind and the waves makes almost music to my ears. Waves braking on a shore is a sound I love. It reminds me of my childhood summers.

I ended up emptying one room on the 3rd floor next to the kitchen. A little warm water and soap and you could actually stay there. This place is so filthy and full of rubbish. But little by little we will change that.

Being alone here I'm not supposed to do much due to security reasons. I feel good to be able to do something for this place and I try to be careful. This is it from the sunny Märket!
