Weather was to day again very fine. Sun was shining and wind speed very slow. It was very pleasant walk around this small rocky island and I took (again) one picture of this lighthouse. It was so bright in the morning sunshine. I think that there is thousand and thousand picture taken of Märket lighthouse. I (Harri) personally have taken over thousand pictures during this summer season here.
When we walk around here we have watch our steps because here is many iron bolts etc on the rock almost every where and it is possible to stumble over them and get hurt.
It would be interested to know why they are installed. One very big rosted iron mast (11 meters high) here has been a sea mark and installed in 1886 before the lighthouse. It saved construction workes life in 1885 because sudden strong sorm game and men had to lift their boat to this sea mark and spended their time one day and watching when waves destroyed all construction materials for the becoming lighthouse. Men saved their lifes but eight of them resigned after storm.
This original place of this seamark was north from the present breakwater and it cutted and moved once to the south behind the buildings. In original place their is one little pice of seamark left.
