A beautiful dawn again. The weather broadcast promised 1 ms wind and +19 degrees. At 8 a´clock the whole crew was up enjoying the breakfast.

We got a message telling about visitors to be expected in the afternoon. The first task for the day was to remove the the new gas oven from the cliff to the kitchen.



It looked dangerous but Ari and Pasi knew exatly how to use the winch and the ropes and with the help of Emil and Roope the oven was lifted up to the lighthouse door. Then it was carried all the way up he stairs to the kitchen. The oven is quite big in size and it caused a new problem. There was no longer room for the table used for kicthen work such as making coffee etc. Roope started to make a new table immediately while Pasi concentrated on installing the oven to use. Since we now have the long wanted oven it is obvious it will be used a lot.

Maaret voluntaryly offered to bake buns and Irma joined her. Seija had the pleasure to wash those ovenplates made of steel, which really needed proper cleaning before taken to use. Then after some time a wonderful smell started to float from the ligthouse.



Finally after lunch we got coffee and those delicious buns which tasted better than any buns before.

Today two seals were seen on the cliffs near by Märket on the west side. They layed there very relaxed but unfortunately did not stay for long.



Our visitors came in schedule by the boat of Destia. The frontier guards and representatives of the FMA were onboard as well as Märket´s own architect, Tapio Rönkönharju. This was not just a social visit, the authorities wanted to check the ligthouse and see how our project is proseeding. Hope they were satisfied in what they saw. The architect had time only for a short visit this time, but he discussed with Ari about the plans for the summer. The visitors were served sandwiches, coffee and, of course, buns.

While waiting the boat to take the visitos back they kindly helped us to pile the firewood. We allowed them to do that even thoug they are not members of the ligthouse society and had not payed the volunteer´s fee. We hope the situation will chance soon.
