This report glorifies the heating stoves. There are totally seven of
them, five for the seven rooms of the lighthouse, one for sauna and one
for heating water.
Kitchen is the busiest room in the lighthouse. Dopey is not needed as
often as there is also huge gas cooker in the kitchen.
Bashful has selected the most peaceful place, museum room on the third
floor.
Doc is looking after the shop. It has been rebuilt this summer, but as
much as possible according to the original design.
Sleepy is taking care of all those sleepers in the sleeping room on the
second floor. It is one of most peaceful, but maybe not so quiet room in
the night time. It has also been rebuilt this summer.
Sneezy is in the attic room. It doesn't like westerly winds, but gets
flu easily. If that is the case, you have to watch it carefully after
setting fire or otherwise it will give you a lot of smoke.
Grumpy has to stay outside under the clear sky, because it is giving
sometime a lot steam and smoke. It is heated almost every day. Warm
water is needed for dishes and for our Spa Lilla Märket.
When our sauna went to pieces Happy was carried to store. Hopefully it
will be back to work next summer.
They have seen the central heating come and go. They might see the
central heating come again using geothermal heating, but in all cases
they will stay.
They all are extremely reliable. They don't need any electricity or
something else, just some 5 kilos of dry fire wood once or twice a day.
You take ashes away and they are satisfied. It might be very difficult
to get dry fire wood to this remote and lonely place, but for sure it's
not their fault.
As you have seen earlier you can even prepare some food in their glowing
remains of fire. They take care of your wet clothes and shoes giving
heat for the all day and night. One of them warms dishing and shower
water and of course, one will be heating the sauna in the future.
They are the big seven dwarfs.
