Preparations for the winter period continue. All stores are consumed as
low as possible (food..), emptied (water..) or filled to top (fuel..).
There are not so many food items which can stand the winter. In worst
case temperature will fall below -30 degrees centigrade. Humidity is
very high all the time and especially when we still have open sea
around. Luckily there are no mice or moles on Märket Island. Freezing
water can break cans, tubes and even stones. Fuel tanks should be full
to avoid condensing water. Winter is good time for servicing different
technical systems. One of the three inverter/chargers was dismantled. It
will be taken to service.



We wrote some additional instructions for the next team. Normally teams
don`t have much common time to share experiences or give instructions.
They are just busy with unloading and loading the boat. The next team
has been here earlier, but not at this dark and cold time. They will
make the final close down of the lighthouse for the winter.
The sea level has been today much lower than for long time. Maybe it is
low because we are making preparations for celebration under high pressure..



We have continued collecting our things and trying to put them back to
bags. Now it is good time to pick-up lessons learned: what was too much,
what was too little, what was missing.. We ate almost all food we
brought here, but we have now one additional heavy box from radio
amateurs to take back to shore. We still aim to clean all rooms before
the celebration. It is nice to have a clean lighthouse on the birthday.
You never know who will be coming here in addition to Johanna, Pekka and
Mats. We ate dinner today a little pit earlier so we are well prepared
to start birthday celebration also earlier.
