We started our journey to Märket lighthouse by Subsea ferry at 05:25 am from Mariehamn harbur. The ferry was loaded rather heavily. The load contained firewoods, construction materials, timber, bricks, water, foodmaterials and eight very eager lighthousekeepers. When we left the harbour wind was calm and we hoped that it would stay the same all the way. We hoped to see Märket lighthouse in horizont in four hours. Seabreakfast was deep in the ferry. For our disapointment we were forced to seek shelter because wind got stronger.

It took four hours to wait before we were able to continue. Later in the afternoon we finally arrived to Märket but we could not land at once. It took few hours before landing succeeded. Unloading started immendiately as the darkness would come soon.

Some of us went inside to start heating and checking all the places were fine after winter. Others continued unloading the ferry.

Darkness fell. 23:30 we finally had our lunch and then GOOD NIGHT!
