When we went to sleep last night the wind speed was still quite strong. It blowed inside the lighthouse through every possible hole and for example air temperature in the bedroom dropped down by 2-3 degrees.

Waves produced also very big noise when dashing against Märket so it was difficult to fall asleep. Finally when I fell asleep I saw bad dream that I was sitting in a chair of dentist and he was drilling my tooth very painfully, luckily it was only a dream.

Weather in the morning and also during the whole day was excellent, sunshine, almost no wind and a heavy swells which we admired. We got very much energy from this kind of weather and started cheerfully to empty the bio compost. Many volunteers here at Märket hate this job but actually it is only a pure soil and very good for the flower bed.



We started also to chop woods in lower storage because they are too thick for stoves.



In engine room we finished to improve the security of some low voltage electric cables, shortened them, installed fuses and roated them to go on the wall instead that they were on the floor.



When we came to Märket the battery which gives voltage to lights inside the lighthouse was totally discharged. We had to charge it with the diesel generator for few hours and now it seems so that the solar panel in a sunny day can charge it. We measured how much current is needed when all lights are on.



Around one hundred ships pass Märket every day. Today one of them was a Finnish cargo ship. On the command bridge of that ship was our well known friend. We chatted with him using marine VHF radio telephone. I carry this phone every time when I am sailing or being in a boat at sea. It is also for the security. This phone needs official licence and its user has also done at least so called SRC examine.
