Working day began early! First thing was taking care of firewood. The heating is little by little spreading also to other rooms than those with ovens.
Wheelbarrow is rising easily and with fine balance.
Next thing was the rail of lanternine balcony. Rail parts were originally in 1885 joined with rivets, joining the rail part with ends made thin on both sides. Numbering of rail parts is still possible to see. Now the thing is done by welding.
After late lunch we saw a seal on Märket, in north where part of rock is separated with shallow strait. We took camera and approached it, at the end crawling.
It was this year's baby seal, resting and now and then tumbling, trying to get rid of its white birth fur. How beautiful eyes it had.
But very wary it was. When we stood up, it raised its head and crawled hastily to sea.
In the afternoon we proved the new inflatable boat with 10 horsepower motor. To the north we went and circled a seal reef. Part of them dived, part stayed.
These reefs are worlds for seals and birds only. Waters are sometimes very shallow, so as they have always been a danger to seafaring.
The eve next to May 1st ended with cosy chat beside kithcen table and a toast to Märkets future.
